Who is Ryan? The LiveLikeRyan Foundation was established in honor of the life of service lived so brightly by Ryan Andrew Hayworth. Ryan was born in Fayetteville, NC on St. Patrick’s Day in 1998.
Ryan was full of life and was excited about nearly everything. He loved sports playing baseball, basketball and soccer throughout his school years. His smile was famous with everyone that ever met him and his laugh was contagious. He loved the outdoors spending a great deal of time hunting and fishing. He loved to dress nice and had more shoes than many small shoe stores!! Ryan loved his family, the holidays, his friends, his church and most of all his savior Jesus Christ. Ryan began serving in Junior High School while attending Liberty Christian Academy. He continued to serve as he entered High School where he spent countless hours working on projects and events such as Soup Kitchens, Mission Trips, Workdays for the Elderly, Youth Camps, and even served as a Bible Study Leader at Faith Baptist Church in Knightdale, North Carolina. After graduating High School from East Wake Academy in Zebulon, Ryan continued his life of service by joining the Army National Guard. He was deployed during two Hurricane Relief Efforts and again for 14 Months during Operation Enduring Freedom in the Middle East. After returning from deployment, Ryan entered the Police Academy and continued to serve his community as he joined the Knightdale Police Department. Officer Ryan Hayworth tragically lost his life at the young age of 23 when he was struck and killed by an impaired driver while investigating an accident on I-540 in Knightdale. Ryan had only been on the Police Department for 3 months. But Ryan’s story does not end on October 17, 2021. Ryan’s legacy of a life of service continues to influence others to serve people around them and to live a life for Christ. |
